Jessica Janzen serves as a Project Manager in the Higher Education and Science & Technology studios at SmithGroup. She has a combined background in architecture and interior design having earned degrees from Kansas State University and the University of Texas at Austin respectively. Her unique design approach is driven by integration from the urban scale down to the smallest interior detail. Jessica thrives in client environments and while coordinating disciplines and has a keen understanding of all facets of design.
Jessica’s passion for design began more than two decades ago when she spent extensive periods of time with classmates fighting cancer at local hospitals. That initial draw to design extends to her current work focusing on student life and academic health and wellness programs. She is passionate about academic, athletic, and recreation environments that foster the growth of current and future thinkers, innovators, and doers.
Jessica is a licensed architect and LEED AP, BD+C certificate holder. She serves on the Kansas State University Interior Design Advisory Board, AIA Dallas COTE Committee, and is the Director At Large for ASID Texas.
