Student Organizations
Financial Planning Association (FPA)
FPA K-State is a student organization that fosters the value of financial planning and advances the financial planning profession. Most of the student organization is made up of students enrolled in the Personal Financial Planning undergraduate program. FPA K-State allows students the opportunity to explore new ways to enrich academic experiences and prepare them for the profession. This organization offers students industry exposure through attending career events, hosting guest speakers who currently work in the profession, and hearing from recent graduates about their path to success. Contact Blake Gray, faculty advisor, for more information.
*See www.fpakc.org for upcoming events with the Financial Planning Association of Kansas City in Kansas City.
Conferences and Competitions
A select number of students majoring in PFP are invited to represent K-State at regional and national conferences. Our top students vie for spots to compete at these conferences. In 13 of the last 20 years, K-State’s students have placed in the top 3 in the country for every competition we’ve entered.
Interested in learning more about the upcoming conference or competition team opportunities, contact our gndergraduate program director, Derek Lawson.
Peer Mentors
Upperclassmen within the program are recruited during the end of semester to be mentors for the upcoming semester (Spring is as needed). If you are a PFP major and are interested in becoming a peer mentor, contact the faculty advisor, Yu Zhang.
