Biography
Yu (Yulia) Zhang, Ph.D., AFC® (She, her, hers) – Dr. Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University. Her research interests include financial technology, advice-seeking, financial capability, financial education and socialization, and consumer financial well-being. Dr. Zhang was recognized with the "National Endowment for Financial Education Best Paper Award" from the American Council for Consumer Interests in 2021, the AFCPE® Outstanding Symposium Research Award in 2022, and the Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal Best Paper Award in 2023. Her publications can be found in high-quality peer-reviewed journals including Applied Economics Letters, Family and Consumer Science Research Journal, and Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning. As an educator, Dr. Zhang has a broad teaching interest in personal financial planning areas. She is deeply committed to imparting knowledge to the next generation of young adults, thereby enhancing the financial literacy of the community.
