Natural Dyes

Farm to Fashion Camp

Dr. Haar and Dr. Doty research and create designs using natural dyes. Natural dying is a technique used to practice sustainability in the fashion industry. Sustainability is integrated throughout the fashion studies program at Kansas State University and the professors like, Dr. Hiller and Dr. LeHew, have made it possible to share this with the future generation of middle and high schoolers.

During this three and a half day camp, students learn about sustainable practices to use in the fashion industry such as natural dying, weaving, and fashion design. This hands-on experience is highly interactive and introduces students to the fashion process.
