A team of six researchers, including Dr. Kaup, conducted a study on nursing homes and found that not-for-profit and CCRC-affiliated homes were most likely to adopt culture changes.

A 2017 article titled “The Kansas PEAK 2.0 Program Facilitates the Diffusion of Culture-Change Innovation to Unlikely Adopters” explores research findings regarding if nursing homes were more likely to adopt change under the incentive of the PEAK 2.0 program. However, the study did find that the program was mostly desirable for said nursing homes during its first year, 2012; the associations became steadily more marginal until the end of the program in 2016.
