Catie Shaffer, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP
Hutton
Interior Design Architect
Catie has a passion for people and a love for design. She followed her vision to Kansas State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design in 2008. After graduation, she moved back to her hometown and started her career with Gossen Livingstone Associates (now GLMV Architecture) in Wichita, KS where she designed a variety of project types across a broad range of markets.
During her tenure at GLMV, Catie became a LEED accredited professional as well as a NCIDQ-certified interior designer. Eventually her passion to serve design-build clients better led her to Hutton, where every day her job as a design project manager is about designing, dreaming, and turning ideas into reality. Hutton’s highly collaborative design-build approach aligns well with Catie’s people-focused design approach to projects and their commitment to partnering with innovative clients keeps her overactive imagination fueled.
An active member of her community, Catie serves on a variety of boards including the KSU ID Advisory Board, United Way of the Plains, Women United, Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas Impact Board, remains active in her local IIDA City Center, and maintains alumnae status with The Thread, a Wichita Women’s Leadership program.
At home on her nearly 20-acres she raises free-range animals and children alike. She shares the homestead with her husband Kyle, two daughters Callihan and Caroline, and a small menagerie of goats, chickens, some actual wild cats, and her constant shadow, Schmitty the rescue pup. In her free time, she likes to garden, read, attend her kid’s various sport practices and games, and occasionally gets talked into coaching.
