Undergraduate Programs
We offer the following undergraduate degree programs:
Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Sciences
Athletic training and rehabilitation sciences prepares students for a career as an allied-health professional as well as entry into a professional degree program. Graduates will have met the admission requirements for many health professional programs, specifically the master’s degree in athletic training at K-State. Courses focus on the concepts that are foundational to develop the skills needed to manage health care needs of physically active individuals at all levels and ages.
Dietetics
Registered dietitian nutritionists, or RDNs, translate the science of food and nutrition to enhance the well-being of individuals and groups. K-State offers two professional programs in dietetics, a didactic program and a coordinated program. Both programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Nutrition and Health
The nutrition and health program is one of the best programs for students seeking an education and training for a health career, with the flexibility to make it adaptable to many different needs. It prepares students for professional schools leading to careers including physician assistant, nurse practitioner and other health professions.
Nutritional Sciences
The nutritional sciences program emphasizes biology and chemistry to understand the function and metabolism of nutrients. The program provides a unique insight into the human body and is an excellent preparatory program for students who are interested in pursuing medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant, nursing, or physical therapy.
Sports Nutrition
The sports nutrition program focuses on the application of nutrition principles as they relate to sport and human performance. Students will explore how nutrition impacts performance. Graduates will be prepared for careers including sports nutrition, personal training or work in the fitness industry, including product development and research.
Minors and Certificates
Undergraduate secondary majors and minors provide students an opportunity to emphasize study in an area outside their major curriculum. Courses forming a minor may be used to satisfy the general requirements of a major curriculum, including free electives. Students are not required to complete a minor to graduate. A minor can be awarded to a student upon or after being awarded a baccalaureate degree.
An undergraduate certificate emphasizes a focused specialty area of study and increase the knowledge and skills of individuals.
