Professional Biography

My Dunderdale is a graduate academic advisor in the Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics & Heath of College of Health and Human Sciences at Kansas State University. My is currently pursuing her PsyD in Clinical Psychology degree to eventually become a licensed clinical psychologist. My is also a part-time instructor teaching psychology, human growth and development, and sociology courses at community colleges and for high school students. Her research interests include several broad themes: immigrants’ psychological impact of migration, acculturation stress and acculturative orientations, language barriers, discriminative experiences and traumas during migration and mental health and pathological outcomes, resilience mechanisms within immigrant populations, cultural variations in attachment styles, human and relationship development across cultures. Given My’s ultimate goal of becoming a psychologist, her clinical areas of interest include a wide variety of clinical psychopathology and mental health conditions within the field: anxiety/panic/phobias, bipolar and major depressive disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, ADD/ADHD, addiction/recovery and substance use disorders, eating disorders, trauma, grief & loss and pain management, relationships, emotional disturbances, divorce/domestic violence and life transitions, LGBTQ+, personal growth, aging, geriatrics.

Personal Information

My is originally from Vietnam and has studied and travelled across different countries, such as South Korea, Australia, and now the United States. My’s language ability as a trilingual in Vietnamese, English, and Korean has given her the opportunity to absorb multicultural perspectives and comprehend the needs of students from a diversity of populations. My was a former International Ambassador at Daegu University of South Korea and has intensive experience working with international students and knowledge in study abroad processes. She also has extensive experience working with military populations in admissions and enrollment, academic advising, and student support services. My is currently living with her husband who is an active soldier at Fort Riley, with their fur babies. In her free time, My enjoys spending time with her family, crocheting and knitting, karaoke, and walking her doggies.
