Summer S.T.E.M. Programs
The College of Health and Human Sciences is excited to offer a variety of programs this spring and summer for prospective K-State students! Details for each program will be added as they become available.
Social Impact Lab
7- 10th graders
Cost: FREE
No. of registrants: 100
The Social Impact Lab is a one-day event that utilizes hands-on interactive activities to highlight helping professional skills and various career paths in the helping profession.
The program will cover topics such as self-care, communication and conflict resolution skills, self-awareness and cultural competence, social and emotional skills, political advocacy, crime scene investigation, disaster preparedness, problem-solving, developing relationships, counseling, and more to expose students to the types of activities for which helping professionals are engaged.
Farm to Fashion
June 17-20
7 – 12th graders
Cost: $100
No. of registrants: 15
Farm to Fashion exposes middle school and high school students to a range of career opportunities within the fashion industry and immerses them into the fashion studies program at K-State by utilizing the fashion studies design studio and natural dye lab throughout the week. Participants will work with K-State faculty and current students to learn about natural dyeing, fashion illustration and design, sewing, and textiles.
Health Professions Exploration Program
11th – 12th graders
Cost: TBD
No. of registrants: 20 students per session
The Health Professions Exploration Program is a week-long program designed for incoming high school juniors and seniors who are interested in a career helping others through the health care industry. Participants will come to Meet, Explore and Experience a variety of health care professions and academic programs with a small cohort of like-minded high school students. This program will have two sessions, hosted during different weeks.

- Other high school students interested in a health care career.
- K-State alumni currently enrolled in professional school or working in the area as heath care professionals.
- K-State faculty with expertise in areas of human health.
- Current K-State students pursuing a career as a health care professional.
- K-State health professions advisors.
Explore
- A variety of professions that focus on human health including areas such as health care providers, food safety experts, public health professionals, illness and disease researchers and more.
- Academic programs that focus on human health and prepare students to become successful health care professionals.
- How professions focused on health care work together to provide a holistic approach to their patients and clients.
- Professional school applications and how to become a competitive applicant.
Experience
- Living on campus in the residence halls.

Financial Planning Academy
July 14-19
10-12th graders

The Financial Planning Academy is a week-long program that provides high school students with an exciting week on K-State's campus where they will deepen their understanding of personal finance and the profession of financial planning. While here, students will interact with local financial experts and further develop their skills in leadership, communication, team building, entrepreneurship, marketing and more.
