Sarah Kolmer '15

Sarah Kolmer is a Kansas native and graduate of Emporia High School, where her passion for both academics and athletics first started. She continued her journey at Kansas State University, competing in track and field as a heptathlete and 4x400 relay specialist while earning a degree in kinesiology. During her time as a NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member, she demonstrated leadership beyond the track, and her academic excellence was recognized with the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, the highest academic honor in the Big 12 Conference. Her athletic achievements include multiple Big 12 Conference podium finishes and qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 4x400 relay.

Driven by a passion for science and patient care, Sarah pursued a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Touro University Nevada. She began her career in acute care before transitioning to in-home primary care at OptumCare, where she focuses on preventative medicine.  Recently, she reached a significant career milestone by earning Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) partnership. She is an active member of American Academy of Physician Assistant and Nevada Academy of Physician Assistant studies.

Sarah’s background in kinesiology and athletics has shaped her approach to evidence-based, preventative healthcare. She remains committed to her community. She resides in Las Vegas with her husband RJ Santigate and daughter Jillian.
