2013 Recipient: Lynette M. Fraga
2006 Ph.D. in family life education and consultation
Executive director of Child Care Aware® of America
"I've been able to see how one person can actually make a difference in big and small ways. I encourage students to develop strong relationships and bring passion to all they do. Persevere. Life is really about what you do with all your experiences, good and bad. Take it all in and make life better for someone else."
Dr. Fraga has spent her career working on behalf of children and families as an early childhood teacher, then nationally with special populations, child development with military families and infant mental health. At Child Care Aware® of America she continues to make positive changes through policy, leading state and national initiatives to give every child access to high quality child care and early learning experiences. She also studied at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Arizona.
