Family and consumer sciences educators equip students with the life skills they need to be healthy individuals and build strong families. Formerly known as home economics, this program is for students who plan to teach family and consumer sciences at the middle and high school levels.
Our program prepares students to teach hospitality management; food science, culinary arts and nutrition; personal wellness and well-being; interior design, fashion and clothing construction; human development and family science; career readiness and community connections; and personal finance. Partnership with the College of Education
The Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Education program at Kansas State University is a partnership between the College of Health and Human Sciences and the College of Education.

With a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education, you will:
- Earn licensure to teach family and consumer sciences at the middle and senior high levels in the state of Kansas.
