Professional Biography
Emily Johnson received a Bachelor of General Studies in Speech-Language-Hearing in 2009 and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2011, both from the University of Kansas. She earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-language Hearing Association in 2012 and remains an active member of this organization. She has experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a school-based setting as well as an outpatient pediatric clinic.
Emily began her position as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Kansas State University in May 2019. She is excited about the opportunity to teach, supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate level students.
Personal Information
Emily Johnson chose to pursue a career in speech-language pathology because she values the importance of communication and the impact it has on an individual's quality of life. This career gives her the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives on a daily basis.
Emily is a Manhattan, Kansas native. She completed her post-secondary education at the University of Kansas, but returned to Manhattan in 2011. She and her family enjoy attending community events and cheering on the wildcats at K-State Athletic events.
