Personhood and Dementia Workshop

From the Director

Workshop participants interact with one another"We are doing this workshop because we have recognized the high demands placed on formal and informal caregivers of persons with dementia. Recent practice has shown the benefits of the arts for persons with cognitive loss. Because medical advances have helped people to live longer, more and more of us will be afflicted with these problems. It is important for us to find solutions that focus on quality of life for this population."

Due to the pandemic and staff transitions within the Center on Aging, we did not offer this program in 2020 or 2021. We are currently trying to revitalize the program and plan for future Personhood and Dementia Workshops. You can find information on workshops offered previously on this page. Until we have a plan in place for a future workshop, you will find information posted below that you may find useful. These resources were supplied by the Alzheimer's Association. If you need assistance finding additional resources or have questions you can call the Alzheimer's Association at 800-272-3900.

The Alzheimer's Association has multiple virtual opportunities available to educate yourselves and your loved ones. Please see the links below for access to Virtual Education Programs and Virtual Support Groups. There is a new Virtual Support Group specifically to support those with a loved one who is living in a long term care facility.
