Our Planning Process

Thank you to each member of our college community who contributed to this process by participating in interviews, attending listening sessions, and responding to surveys. This plan would not have been possible without the collective effort of our dedicated college members and external partners.

In September 2024, we launched the HHS 2030 strategic plan (pdf). This plan charts our course for the future, guiding us toward innovative ways to meet the evolving needs of our learners, transform lives, strengthen communities, and expand our commitment to excellence and well-being across Kansas.

This stakeholder-driven planning process took place over the spring 2024 semester. Below is a summary timeline as a reminder of the key steps of this process and major milestones.

• January 2024: Strategic planning process kicked off with steering committee
• January – February 2024: Desk research, market research
• February – March 2024: Fielded a survey to all HHS learners to gather feedback on the leaner experience
• April 2024: Held additional listening sessions focused on strategic planning, organized by the new three school structure identified in the reorganization process
• April 25, 2024: Steering committee and college leadership attended a strategic planning retreat to review research findings and build consensus around strategic priorities, key goals, and strategies
• April – August 2024: Draft strategic plan developed around cohesive framework with priorities, goals, strategies, and success metrics; reviewed by the strategic planning steering committee, CCOP, college leadership, and university leadership
• September 2024: HHS strategic plan finalized and launched
